Support Workers (Night & Day Staff)

Salary scale: £8.75 - £9.35 per hour (plus additional premium for night duty)

Lifeworks is looking for Support Workers to join the team at Sesame, delivering person centred care and support to four adults living in a residential care setting.

Children & young adults with learning disabilities and their families are at the heart of everything we do and we want every person we support to have a great life, with excellent outcomes. We couldn’t achieve that without all the great support workers who join our care teams. It all starts with you!

There is no such thing as a ‘typical’ support worker. Our staff come from lots of different backgrounds, people with little or no experience but want a job that involves helping people, those who want a change of career as well as experienced support workers.

The one thing that links all of them together is their desire to work with young learning disabled people, make their lives better and help them to learn something new or take a further step towards independence. Our support workers certainly don’t see what they do as ‘just another job’.

No two days will be the same as you will get involved in a variety of different tasks and activities whilst helping the young adults to learn the skills they need to live the life they choose.

Ideally you will have previous experience in this sector and hold a Level 3 Diploma in Social Care (or equivalent). Though this qualification is by no means essential, a willingness to gain the qualification within 2 years is required.  You will also be committed to our values and the continuous development at Sesame to improve on the already good reputation that Sesame holds.

We are a well-established charity that provides an excellent range of staff benefits including 28 days’ annual leave, a company pension scheme, childcare vouchers, staff discount scheme, ongoing training and supervision, continuing professional development and support as well as an extensive induction on commencement of employment. Lifeworks are also accredited Disability Confident Employers.

Lifeworks is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young adults and they expect all staff to share this commitment. For this post, pre-employment checks will be carried out, references will be sought and successful candidates will need to undertake an enhanced DBS check.

Closing date for applications: 5pm on Wednesday 11th July, 2018
