Description :

Looking out for Lottie and Zak training is running at Bideford Arts Centre (Learn Devon), Bideford taking place on the 27th September 2017 - there are plenty of places available on this training, if we are unable to fill these courses they may be cancelled.

The Devon Children and Families Partnership has organised a series of training sessions using the University of Kent serious games.  These are interactive online training packages.  You will have a trainer for the session to take you through the material which you can then access and work at your own pace. Work will be in small groups of two or three people.  The games give you a chance to explore ideas in a realistic but safe environment.

There are three games:

Rosie 2 – this story follows a complex family where neglect is the primary issue, it looks at the complexities of working with a family where there is aggression, disguised compliance, lack of progress and other common features of such work.  You will meet the members of Rosie’s  family, move around their house and learn about their lives.  This is a one day course.

Looking out for Lottie explores the online world of Lottie a 15 year old girl.  You will follow her through her various social networking activities and as a professional you can gain an insight into the online world of a very typical 15 year old girl as she gets drawn into sexual exploitation. This is a half day course.

Zak is a young man heading off to University and you will see life through his social media activities as he is radicalised.

These 3 courses are all available through the DSCB booking system – please book quickly group sizes are small (a maximum of 12 people).  They are running at a variety of locations around Devon.  There will be no charge for either partners or non-partners.  If you are not able to attend after you have booked please let us know as soon as possible or arrange for someone else to attend.  At this stage we will not charge a cancellation fee but this may change if we experience too many people dropping out of the training.  We will arrange further dates subject to demand.
