Are you passionate about supporting young people in Devon?

Whether it is through our accommodation, homelessness, skills of mental health work, Young Devon is an organisation which helps many hundreds of young people every year.  Young Devon exist to change the odds in favour of young people at exactly those times in their lives when it can feel like everything is stacked against them.

We have a core belief that developing good quality relationships can be transformational in young people’s lives and work in a person-centred way, enabling young people to develop the skills and techniques they need to thrive.

We are seeking a committed and passionate individual with the skills and experience to support the leadership of a complex organisation.  An understanding of governance in a charity or non-executive setting isn’t essential but will help.

You will be able to demonstrate good judgement combined with excellent strategic and communication skills.  As a creative thinker and being able to recognise a range of perspectives you will be able to achieve consensus and lead the Board of Trustees to ensure the charity is well governed and focused on meeting the needs of young people.

This is a voluntary position but one which we hope will be very rewarding.  We would hope to appoint to an initial 3 year term with the possibility to extend to a second thereafter.  Reasonable and proper expenses will be reimbursed.  An enhanced DBS check is required for this position.
