Young Devon is excited to be starting a new hospital mentoring service, we want to recruit someone who shares our excitement! Do you have resilience, creativity and the personal qualities to sustain relationships with young people to meet their personal goals? We need youth workers who can provide young-person led support through quality youth work interventions ensuring that young people can set their own goals, leave hospital and manage in the community to avoid readmission.

If you’re committed to improving the emotional health, wellbeing and resilience of young people and believe building quality relationships is key to supporting young people this new project could be the role for you. We are looking forward to welcoming the right candidates to work with the Young Devon team to deliver this service working in partnership with local youth organisations across Devon. This role gives you the opportunity to be part of a team of mental health youth workers engaged and working alongside young people and their families.
You will have the skills to build relationships of trust and understanding, whilst responding to a young person’s needs through a trauma-informed lens. Supporting them to make decisions, have their voice heard to build their own plan and longer-term strategies to prevent going into hospital wards.
if you think you have what it takes then we would love to hear from you. We welcome applications from those with lived experience who have transferrable skills.
