Voluntary & Community Sector Youth Partnerships Assistant

Eligibility: Post open to 16 – 24yrs as part of the Government Kick Start Programme

To be eligible to apply for this position, applicants MUST be registered with the job centre and in receipt of universal credit.

Salary: National Minimum Wage for age group.

Duration: 6 months

Hours: 25 hours per week (some evening work may be required to liaise with youth and community groups) - appointment will commence January 2021 (to be confirmed)

One day a week based at Barnstaple Town Council Offices, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday based at NDVS Offices in Barnstaple

Location: Barnstaple and surrounding area

Responsible to: Voluntary/Community Sector Partnerships Officer, North Devon Voluntary Services Ltd

Purpose of the Post:

• To work within the community to encourage young people into voluntary services work
• To support the work of the voluntary and community sector partnerships officers work in the Rural  Community
• To contribute to the work of North Devon Voluntary Services Ltd
• To enable and facilitate networking, collaboration and peer support between younger members of Voluntary and community Organisations
• To engage with Community Developers and Social Prescribers to find ways to link young people with community groups.
• To support the work of the Barnstaple Town Council and their Volunteer Service
