Wellbeing Café Volunteer Support Worker

A new opportunity to join our team volunteering for a well-respected local charity who are working to change the odds in favour of young people.  We have a track record of supporting those most in need with their housing, emotional health, skills and ensuring their voices are heard in decision making.

Young People and Families who are asking for support with their emotional health and wellbeing have told us they would like to come to a welcoming space in their communities. They would also like to offer help to others. Young Devon is responding by launching its first Wellbeing Café in Exeter YES.

Our aim so far is to offer

• A welcoming environment that is free from prejudice and responds to the needs of young people and their support networks
• We would like to provide a listening ear, practical support and information
• Space for one to one time, group work and information workshops
• A place to come and find out and share ideas on how to improve our wellbeing from others some with personal experience and from our Young Devon team

We are asking for a weekly commitment of 3 hours on one evening per week.

We can offer you support and guidance through regular supervision, helping you gain skills, access training and develop yourself personally and professionally. However we are keen to learn and share skills that you already have that can be of benefit to the Wellbeing Café offer.
