We are very excited to announce that, following a successful bid for funding from the Big Lottery Reaching Communities Fund, MAY is recruiting for the following post at Moretonhampstead's youth club. We're seeking one to three people to fill the role.

  • Youth Support Worker / Assistant Youth Support Worker (depending on existing experience and qualifications)

Post location The Yard, Green Hill, Fore Street, Moretonhampstead, TQ13 8LL

Hours of work Monday and/or Tuesday and/or Wednesday evenings (3 hours a night) and possibly some hours during Saturday daytime, depending on what is agreed with you.

Responsible to the Senior Youth Worker.

Funded by the National Lottery through the Big Lottery Fund until March 2024.

The successful candidate, or candidates will:

  • like young people and enjoy working with young people;

  • be ambitious on behalf of the young people who attend youth club, to support them to gain in confidence, skills and achievement, and enable them to gain a voice, influence and place in society;

  • be strongly motivated to progress their own professional and personal development.

The Exceptions (Amendment) Order 1986 to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 applies to this position, and the successful candidate/s will be required to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau. 

Ongoing training will be offered to successful candidates and the post is conditional on the completion, within three months of being offered the post, of the following essential training: Safeguarding Children (Level 2); Safer Food Handling (Level 2); and Emergency First Aid at Work.
