Introducing Tom Coulthard who joins the VOYC Devon team this month.

Tom will take over from Mark Goodman in September after a 3-month handover period. We're delighted to welcome him to the team. Some of you may already know Tom, who has been working with Space as a part of their Community Team. Here, Tom introduces himself:

"My name is Tom Coulthard, I am 46 and I live in the South Hams of Devon. I am honoured to be taking over from Mark Goodman as CEO when he retires, I am sure many of you will get to meet me before then as I will be working part-time alongside him from early June.

"I became interested in youth work as a teenager, working as a volunteer kayak instructor with my canoe club and scouts whilst I was in university. I worked in numerous jobs around the country before returning to Devon in 2001.

"I ran my own voluntary youth club from 2001-2018 and worked for Devon Youth Service from 2003-2014. I served as a town councillor from 2015-2018, which gave me a great insight into the vital role local government plays in supporting community development.

"I've worked for Space Youth Services since 2016, in the Community Team, developing and supporting volunteer youth workers from across the county.

"VOYC has been a vital partner in my working life, it helped re-open the youth centre in my hometown and I am looking forward to working with you all in future."

We're sure he will be a great asset to organisations and groups working with young people and children in Devon.
