Update Draft Safeguarding Policies – Settings and Childminders

The Draft Safeguarding Policies for both settings and childminders have been updates and are available on the Devon County Council website.

The main changes are as follows:

To ensure they are GDPR compliant e.g. how long records will be kept for, parents have access to records etc
Changed the safeguarding designated officer to safeguarding designated lead – this is to be in line with the ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ which is now referenced in the EYFS
Changed references from LSCB to DCFP
Incorporated mobile devices and phones now so that they include new technologies e.g. smart watches
Training now mentions about receiving regular updates as well as the training requirements again this is in line with ‘Keeping children Safe in Education’
