EXETER FACILITATOR

Do you enjoy working with children and want to help keep them safe from abuse? Then this might be the job for you.

CAP UK is a charity that aims to keep children Safe Strong and Free. Based on a international programme, CAP has been running in the South West for 23 years.

Our approach is to work with the whole school community by running workshops for parents, school staff and with children in whole class groups.

The children’s workshops focus on empowering children to understand their rights to safety strength and freedom. CAP teaches children to recognise unsafe situations and gives them strategies to manage these and get help. By using role-play, puppets and discussion the workshops convey these serious messages in a fun, age appropriate way.

CAPs adult workshops help the community understand how to talk to children about keeping safe. We also run child protection training to build confidence in recognising a child that is being abused and how to access support.

Children’s workshop facilitator- Exeter team:

We are looking for someone to join our Exeter team. CAP UK has received funding from the Big Lottery to increase our work in this city and surrounding area.

The role of Exeter workshop facilitator is a part time position. This post is for 350 hours in the classroom, with additional hours for training and attending whole team meeting.

All the work takes place in term time but does often involve early starts. CAP children’s workshops usually run on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays but we also hold team meetings on Thursday mornings once a month. Hours needed to work are agreed a term in advance. We are recruiting now for a September start.

No specific experience is required for the role; however previous experience of working with children, or workshop delivery is required.  It is vital that candidates respect children and believe in their empowerment.
