Gymnastics Coach Apprenticeship

Job description:
APPRENTICE GYMNASTICS COACH and ACTIVITY LEADER.

Duties would include: planning and preparing coaching sessions including lesson plans and evaluations, to assist in teaching planned lessons under direction of a level 2 coach, to monitor and assess development of gymnasts, to set and plan objectives and targets, to gain relevant experience of working in a gymnastics/sport club and associated administration.

The apprenticeship provider will provide course material, tutoring and assessment.  North Devon Gym Club will provide gymnastic training and mentoring.

Working Week
20+ hours per week. (TBC)

Future Prospects
To develop as a Gymnastics Coach and Activity Leader; extend apprenticeship to undertake further qualifications which will lead to planning and delivering classes.

Training to be provided in 1^st year

• NVQ in Activity Leadership
• Child Protection
• First Aid
• Gymnastics Level 0
• Gymnastics Level 1 (if ready and as courses become available)

Skills Required

• A reasonable level of fitness.
• We are looking for someone who is creative and passionate about sport.

Personal Qualities

• To be committed to this 1 year course.
• To be articulate and enthusiastic.
• You must have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Qualifications Required
A good standard of Maths and English, spoken and written, is required.

Reality Check
If not living locally, own transport or access to transport will be required. Unsociable hours (Evenings and weekends)
