Torbay
Description :

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people in Torbay?

Whether it is through our young carers or youth work, we support children and young people across Torbay to ensure their voices are heard and they receive the best support they need. We exist to change the odds in favour of young people at exactly those times in their lives when it can feel like everything is stacked against them.

We have a core belief that developing good quality relationships can be transformational in young people’s lives and work in a person-centred way, enabling young people to develop the skills and techniques they need to thrive.

Having successfully transferred services out of a local authority setting, we are now at a stage in our development where we are seeking to appoint a Chair of Trustees.

We are seeking a committed and passionate individual with the skills and experience to support the leadership of a complex organisation. An understanding of governance in a charity is essential for this role.

You will be able to demonstrate good judgement combined with excellent strategic and communication skills. As a creative thinker and being able to recognise a range of perspectives you will be able to achieve consensus and lead the Board of Trustees to ensure the charity is well governed and focused on meeting the needs of young people.

Full details of the contribution of the Chair of Trustees and the commitment required, as well as how to apply, are available in our role profile available to download from the website above.

Torbay Youth Trust is committed to Safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable groups and all Trustees will be required to complete the checks through the Disclosure and Barring Service.
