About VOYC
Voluntary Organisations for Young People and Children Devon (VOYC Devon), is the local network for those working in the young people and children's Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) Sector in Devon. Our small team is responsible for developing the sector through training and resources, influencing agencies and connecting the VCSE organisations with each other. The overall aim is to support the needs of young people and children in Devon.

Hear what Mark has to say about the role:
VOYC Devon is an organisation with a mission of improving support to those who work to provide services for children and young people within community settings in Devon. After being involved for more than twenty years I am stepping down from the role of Chief Executive Officer in the summer and VOYC Devon is therefore looking for a replacement. It is a wonderful organisation and I’m sure the right person is out there to help guide it to a bright and sustainable future. Could that person be you?

Here’s what’s great about the organisation:
VOYC Devon supports frontline Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations who work with children and young people, to develop, coordinate, represent and promote front line organisations, thus enabling them to deliver their missions more effectively.

The Trustees bring a wealth of personal and professional experience and passion, and we have excellent links with organisations such as DYS Space and the Devon Children and Families Partnership (DCFP).

We deliver a range of infrastructure functions and through this champion and strengthen the informal learning offer of the VCSE in Devon to make a difference to the lives of children and young people. This includes information, advice and guidance, safeguarding training and networking opportunities.

VOYC Devon acts as a platform between the local VCSE and Agencies and tries to ensure that the voices of the VCSE sector are heard to the mutual advantage of both sectors. The hope is that through this role we can influence policy development and enhance communication between the VCSE and statutory organisations working with children and young people.

As the Chief Officer you would:
• Provide support and services to Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) youth and children’s organisations in Devon in line with VOYC Devon’s strategic plan and partnership agreements, including with Space Devon;
• Give direction and leadership toward the achievement of the organisation's philosophy, mission, strategy and objectives;
• With the chair, enable the Board to fulfil its governance function and maintain financial sustainability.
