What you’ll be working on:

You will be part of a national project with a local team of young people who will be:

  • Researching what causes youth violence by talking to other young people about it.

  • Trying to understand more about what can stop violence affecting young people and their communities.

  • Building a movement of young people, who want to have their say and change things.

About You:

You are 16-20 (ish), have real-life experience of how violence can affect young people, and are great at (or willing to learn to be!) these skills for the research project:

  • Communicating with people – including people you don’t know.

  • Working well together – supporting your teammates.

  • Creative and skilful - writing/ interviewing/ film/ art/ theatre etc.

  • Organised and thoughtful - facilitating/ planning/ analysing results

About the project:

This is an 18-month project running from August 2021 to December 2022, you will be paid for about a day a week but this could be quite flexible - a couple a day’s one week, nothing for a bit, then a couple of hours a week and will include attending a residential. The activities involved will evolve over the 18 months, but will include training, research, social action, change-making, preparing, and presenting to audiences.
