Play / Youth Worker - Socops

Socops is an Exeter based charity supporting young people (aged 7-23) with autism and their families

3 hours every Saturday morning during term time and there will later be the opportunity for an additional evening a month for 2.5 hours (evening to be agreed).

Duties will include motivating and engaging our younger group on (7-15 years) to participate in games in the hall, setting up for the sessions (including loading and unloading equipment) and the evening session, when running, (for 15-23 years) will include encouraging them to socialise and develop independence skills by supporting them to join in according to the activity planned.

This role will be subject to enhanced DBS check and suitable references.

This role would suit someone who would like some additional hours, perhaps you're working as a teaching assistant. It would also suit someone who would like some more experience working with those who have autism. Full training can be given for the right candidate.

Closing date is 9th July. Starting date is as soon as possible. We may close the date earlier of we find the right candidate.
