Holiday Entitlement: 28 Days per annum plus Bank Holidays

Salary: £22,360 – £24,843.11 (dependant on experience and qualifications) + 3% pension contribution will be offered.

Youth Genesis are looking for an innovative, self-motivated manager with evidence of having completed Youth Work training at level 3 or above, to join our team on a permanent basis to help support the growth of youth provisions within communities across Devon.

Youth Genesis is a growing Charity that works with young people aged 11 – 24 and their communities. Our aim is to inspire young people with a vision for life and to work with these communities to empower them to support their young people. Based at the Paignton Office – the post holder will be required to travel to areas of Devon to fulfil the requirements of the post.

The right person for this role will have proven experience of working with Young People, Communities and Organisations to bring to about cohesive action and develop new projects. They will be able to build relationships with a variety of different stakeholders and be willing to spread the word about our work through delivering presentations and attending events. We are looking for someone who can work with staff and volunteers, truly appreciate their contribution and importance within the organisation, and support them to take ownership over their work. Ideally the person will have experience of designing and delivering training and also designing and sourcing resources.

These are some of the tasks you will be typically responsible for:

  • Grow and develop Youth Genesis activities, projects and services within a youth work ethos.
  • Work with residents, community groups, statutory and voluntary agencies in developing new areas of youth work.
  • Undertake monitoring & evaluation of youth sessions and where relevant, ensure progress is reported internally and externally.
  • Keeping up to date records i.e. information about young people. Gathering and recording statistical data in order to meet requirements as agreed with funding bodies and stake holders.
  • Ensuring that session leaders have the necessary forms to record session statistics.
  • To ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with current Health & Safety, Safeguarding, and Equality policies of the organisation. Ensure all activities are properly risk assessed and identified action taken.
  • To work with the Lead Youth Officer, Board of Directors, staff and volunteers in promoting and developing the projects.
  • Recruit and provide line management and support for a team paid and voluntary youth workers.
  • Undertake regular work reviews and supervision sessions with Session Leaders, paid staff and volunteers.
  • Identify training and development opportunities for both paid staff and volunteers. Take the lead on the development and delivery of Training Courses for staff and volunteers.
  • Liaise with the Community Partnerships & Youth Development Manager and Business Administrator to prepare and monitor the annual budgets for the development of youth activities.
  • To work with stakeholders in ensuring efficient control of finances.
  • Ensure that Data Protection policy and procedures are maintained and adhered to.

A full driving license and access to a car is required for this post.
