Voluntary position, approx commitment 1 day per month

Role specifics:

  • To work with the Board of Trustees and the Leadership Team to develop new approaches to fundraising and income generation.

  • Oversee fundraising, ensure compliance and business is in line with our values.

  • Strategically assess where fundraising fits within Space* strategies and work with senior staff to ensure effective income generation is being achieved.

  • Contributing knowledge of fundraising/income generation techniques and strategies and assessing risks in new fundraising directions.

  • Support and encourage the Head of Innovation & Growth.

Personal skills/abilities:

  • A strong affinity with Space* values and mission.

  • A lateral thinker.

  • An ability to provide challenge, guidance and support to the leadership team A good understanding of fundraising, income generation and business development and experience of diverse income generation practices.

  • An understanding of the challenges facing youth sector organisations in securing new funds.

  • Sound, independent judgement and ability to consider the needs of the whole organisation.

  • Work effectively as a team member and demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop.

  • Strong intellectual and analytical ability; innovative thinker and ability to focus on issues requiring action.
