FTC until December 2021, working Full Time, 37 hours per week

The role

As a Children and Families Practitioner you will be working as part of Devon's Early Help service, our centres across Exeter offer a range of early childhood services for parents, prospective parents and young children up to the age of 8, ensuring they get the best start in life. The project comprises a multi-agency, multi-disciplinary team and works in close partnership with a range of local Statutory, Voluntary and Community service providers to provide a needs-led approach to the delivery of services in the area.

You will make a difference by:

- Providing direct family support both at home and in the Centres within the Early Help service.
- Being responsible for a case load of complex Early Help support work.
- Undertaking a supervisory role across the Exeter.
- Organising and running group- based parenting programmes for service users.
- Using a multi-agency approach and liaising with other professional bodies.
- Recording and processing information.

You will need:

- Level 3 qualification in Social Care, Health or Early Years related course.
- Preferably to be trained and have experience of group delivery with parents and children.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with people in a group setting.
- Good IT skills (Microsoft Office suite and database software).
- Meticulous attention to detail and record-keeping skills.
- Safeguarding knowledge and experience.
- A strengths-based approach to working with parents.
- Ability to understand and reflect on daily practice.
- Outcomes focussed approach for children and families.
- Driver's Licence and access to own car (role based across the 4 Exeter Services).
