Community Connector - Exeter (DYS Space)

30 hours per week.

JNC - Senior Youth Support Worker: unqualified scale pt 9 -10, qualified scale pt 10 - 13 (£20,865 - £24,636 fte) (£16,917 - £19,975 actual salary for 30 hrs/wk) Fixed term until 31st December 2022.

DYS Space Ltd (space*) have an exciting opportunity to join a project with Wellbeing Exeter. The project offers a range of community-based options to individuals to maintain health and well-being to reduce the need for statutory care services now and into the future. The Community Connector will work in a person centred way offer in non-medical support. The post will involve working alongside other Community Connector’s from DYS Space and other organisations, be based in Exeter and will be for 30 hours per week. It will require evening and occasional weekend work.

This youth focussed programme is available to people aged 12 - 18 who are patients of Exeter GP practices. Referrals are made by GP’s to the Community Connector linked to the practice. It is the Community Connector’s role to work with the young person to understand their needs, build relationships and work with them to find ways to enrich their lives through connecting them to youth groups, interest groups, activities or helping them to access information, services and advice.
